Rust Belt Resources has partnered with a leading regional law firm looking to add an experienced Paralegal / Legal Assistant to an expanding office in Harrisburg, PA. This person will serve as a key member of the in-house team supporting a Shareholder and 3 Associates. The ideal person will have experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant preferably within the litigation space.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to attorneys in the office.
• Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence, handle scanning projects, proof-reading, and creating binders.
• File pleadings with courts and administrative agencies, particularly e-filings. Edit briefs and interrogatories.
• Process new client matters, coordinate new file opening, and maintain client files.
• Enter, review, and correct attorneys’ time entries.
• Prepare and maintain Excel documents, typically inputting data and using simple formulas.
• Work with PDF documents; convert Word documents, extract pages, create forms.
• Work with Word documents; track changes, format, and print documents.
• Schedule client meetings, manage calendars, and handle expense reports.
• Maintain a clean and presentable reception area, order office supplies, and keep inventory of stock.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing.
• Answer and forward incoming phone calls. Greet and direct visitors.
Skills and Qualifications:
• 1+ year experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant; litigation experience is preferred.
• Excellent computer skills; MS Office Suite and Outlook, etc.
• Customer service mindset and pleasant attitude on phone.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• A client-focused attitude, flexibility, and the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
• Ability to strictly maintain client and firm confidentiality.
• Able to pass an employment background screening.
